'Khudi Bari', designed by 'Marina Tabassum Architects' (MTA) and implemented by the 'Foundation for Architecture and Community Equity' (FACE), has been selected as one of the seven winning projects for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, 2025 (AKAA), one of the world's most prestigious architectural awards. |

'Khudi Bari' means 'small house' in Bengali. It is a modular, portable shelter, primarily designed for marginalized communities affected by climate change. It is a structure made of bamboo and locally sourced materials, which can be easily dismantled, moved and re-erected. The aim of this design is to help people living in flood-prone areas move their homes to a safer place during climate disasters and ensure they have stable housing. |
