The exhibition titled 'Building and Crafting', a workshop run by Architect Salauddin Ahmed, Architect Mohammad Emran Hossain and Artist Wakilur Rahman on December 2024, is on display at the Bengal Institute now. The exhibition began on 14.05.25 at Atelier Robin Studio, Hazaribagh, Dhaka and will continue till 24.05.25. "Building and Crafting" refers to the essence of making. Craftsmanship is the union of technique, materials, tradition, and innovation. Beyond skill, crafts carry questions of value, meaning, and inspiration. |

The exhibition is the culmination of a two-week multi-faceted workshop that brought together skilled artisans, designers, and participants to gain a hands-on experience of crafting. Participants discussed the fundamentals of design, visited local craft sites, reviewed traditional methods, and examined the relationship between materials and form. The final result was a chair. From idea to execution, each completed chair featured in the exhibition is not just a physical object, but also depicts the story behind the chair’s creation (observations, experiments, etc.). |

The exhibition showcases innovative designs of chairs and other seating items, which can be said to be a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design thinking. |
