Zebun Nessa Mosque: First Bangladeshi landmark among Time Magazine's World’s Greatest Places

-

For the first time, a Bangladeshi architecture has made it to the list of ‘Time’s’ World’s Greatest Places 2025’. The Zebun Nesa Mosque has been recognized for its groundbreaking design. It was designed by architect Saika Iqbal Meghna, director and partner of ‘Studio Morphogenesis Limited’.

Zebun Nesa Mosque is a bit different from the traditional mosque. Located in Jamgora, Ashulia, the Zebun Nesa Mosque is filled with natural light and air. It is designed in a beautiful geometric pattern, which creates a spiritual atmosphere in the mosque.

Architect Saika Iqbal Meghna said, “The Zebun Nesa Mosque is the first architecture from Bangladesh to be included in the Time’s World’s Greatest Places. It is incredibly gratifying to have a Bangladeshi project recognized internationally without any external campaign on our part. The unprecedented appreciation this mosque has received nationally and internationally has further strengthened my responsibility as an architect to continue creating meaningful places.”
